Supporting women through pregnancy, birth and early motherhood with gentle yoga

Classes are designed and taught by Sharon, a Master Yoga Teacher and specialist pregnancy and postnatal yoga teacher with experience supporting women through every stage of pregnancy and early motherhood.

You do not need to have practised yoga before, be flexible, or know what to expect. Each class is calm, friendly and adapted to how your body feels on the day, with gentle movement, breathing and relaxation to help you feel more comfortable, confident and supported.

The classes also offer space to pause, ask questions and connect with other local mums and mums-to-be in a relaxed, welcoming setting. Everything is adapted. Nothing is forced.

Pregnancy Yoga

This is where most women start.

Gentle pregnancy yoga classes in Canary Wharf, E14, focusing on movement, relaxation, breathwork and birth preparation throughout pregnancy.

What happens after pregnancy yoga?

Most women start here during pregnancy, then come back once their baby arrives.

The classes change, because your body and your life do.

After birth, there’s a slower return to movement, classes with your baby alongside you, time to settle into the early months, and later on, classes that work around toddlers.

Some women stay beyond that as well, moving into women-only classes or coming back to one-to-one sessions when they want something more tailored.

You don’t need to think about any of that now. Just know it’s here when you need it.

Mum & Baby Yoga

For after your baby arrives, when you are ready to move.

A slower return to movement focusing on recovery, rebuilding strength and adjusting physically to life after birth, with your baby alongside you in class.

Mum & Toddler Yoga

For very active babies and toddlers up to 2.5 years old.

Yoga classes for mums with toddlers alongside them. Designed to help you feel stronger, more mobile and better able to deal with the very physical demands of life with an active toddler. Toddlers are free to play, snack, wander around and occasionally join in too. Relaxed, welcoming and designed for real life with small children.

Baby Massage

Suitable from birth until baby is actively moving.

A calm, welcoming class where you’ll learn gentle baby massage techniques whilst spending quiet one-to-one time with your baby in the early months after birth.

All classes are the same price, so you can choose what works for you and move between classes if needed. Book via Momoyoga.

If you are feeling nervous about joining

You don’t need to have practiced yoga before or feel like you know what you’re doing. Most women haven’t stepped onto a mat prior to my classes.

Some people arrive straight from work, some join in the middle of maternity leave feeling a bit all over the place, some are tired and not sleeping properly. It varies every week. That’s normal in these classes.

You don’t need special clothes or anything specific for pregnancy yoga or postnatal yoga. Just wear what you can move comfortably in. That’s enough.

If you’re not sure whether you’re doing things right, that’s also normal. It’s more important for the postures to feel right rather than look perfect. I demonstrate everything as we go and I keep an eye on what’s happening in the room so no one is left guessing.

Some days you might feel like joining in fully, other days you might need to take more breaks or just do part of the class. That’s fine too. You don’t have to push through anything to be here.

You’re just coming into a room where women are moving, resting, feeding babies, talking, or just taking a bit of time that isn’t about anyone else for once. It’s an hour in class for you to use as you wish and take from it what you require.
